The Port of Buenaventura has handled the largest container vessel in Colombia’s history, with the arrival of a 366 m long ship, which as a loading capacity of 15,720 teu.
The CMA CGM Argentina, which has a width of 51 m, called at the Sociedad Puerto Industrial Aguadulce (SPIA) terminal, coming from Lazaro Cardenas on Mexico’s West Coast before sailing to the Port of Callao in Peru.
Miguel Abisambra, the President of SPIA, said: “This news is not only very important for our terminal, but also for the national port industry, for Buenaventura, for foreign trade, and for Colombia.
