PSA’s Europa Terminal orders 14 new automatic stacking cranes as part of its grand overhaul

PSA Antwerp has signed an agreement with Kuenz and ABB to order 14 new automated stacking cranes (ASCs) for its Europa Terminal.

The new ASCs are part of an overhaul of the terminal that aims to increase the Port of Antwerp and PSA Antwerp’s handling capacity to service the next generation of vessels.

Jurgen De Watcher, general manager of PSA Antwerp, said: “The new ASCs will allow us to significantly expand Europa Termina’s capacity by stacking the containers higher and closer together while brining us a step closer to achieving our ambitious sustainability goals.”
