CMA CGM enters discussions to acquire La Méridionale
CMA CGM has entered exclusive discussions with the Stef group to acquire 100% of La Méridionale, a maritime company for mixed freight and passenger transport in Marseille.
The carrier hopes that the transaction will boost its development on the Mediterranean, while strengthening the position of the port of Marseille and the French maritime sector.
It noted that it intends to turn around and restore growth prospects to La Méridionale by creating commercial complementarities in France and internationally, in particular on the roll-on roll-off (ro-ro) service to Morocco.
