Despite exceeding its expected operating profit for 2022, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) remains cautious in its outlook for 2023 as global disruptions saw last year’s container volumes drop 8%.
Forecast to be in the range of €175m (US$190m) to €210m (US$220m), HHLA recorded a €220m (US$235m) operating profit in 2022 although container throughput dropped to 6.4m teu.
Angela Titzrath, chairwoman of the executive board at HHLA, said: “Stability and safety are key requirements for the reliable provision of logistics services. These two conditions were only present to a limited extent last year.”
