Dublin Port Company has commenced the formal public consultation on the 3FM Project, which aims to deliver 20% of the port’s ultimate and final capacity required by 2040.
Focused on the Poolbeg Peninsula, located on the south side of the bay, the 3FM project includes the development of the largest container terminal in Ireland and six other main elements.
Barry O’Connell, Dublin Port Chief executive, said: “Dublin Port will need to maximise capacity within its existing footprint for an annual throughput of 3.1m trailers and containers by 2040.
