Despite an overall year-on-year decline in global cargo crime incidents, new research on cargo theft has found an increasing emphasis on basic goods, food and beverages, fuel, and auto parts in line with global inflationary trends.
The Annual Cargo Theft Report for 2022, compiled by partners TT Club, the Transported Asset Protection Association’s Europe, Middle East & Africa region (TAPA EMEA) and business improvement and standards consultants BSI, the report offers insight into the changing dynamic of cargo theft around the world.
One of the more prominent trends recorded was identified by TAPA EMEA, which found significant year-on-year increase in the number of fuel thefts recorded in the region.
