Carrier Transicold moves toward Industry 5.0 through collaboration with robots

Carrier Transicold’s Global Container Refrigeration factory has embraced Industry 5.0, which sees people working alongside robots and smart machines to deliver more customised, sustainable and resilient operations.

The Singapore-based factory, a key manufacturing site for Carrier’s refrigerated systems globally, welcomed its first collaborative robot (cobot) in 2021.

Carrier claimed that as the cobot works together with employees in small spaces to assist in attaching access doors on refrigeration units, it frees up workers to focus on other core and higher-value manufacturing operations.
