Keith Svendsen, CEO of APM Terminals, has pledged a R$5.2bn (US$1.1bn) investment in its Brazilian operations up to 2026, with projects planned in Santos and Suape.
The figure includes R$1.6bn (US$320m) of a total R$2.6bn (US$530m) for the Phase One development of a new terminal in Suape.
The facility, located in Estaleiro Atlântico Sul, is in the final stages of acquisition and the operator hopes its launch will rejuvenate infrastructure and increase competition in the port.
