Slow-steaming is a commonly employed strategy aiming to help reduce the shipping industry’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Studies by Simpson Spence & Young and Clarksons have suggested that its benefits may have been overestimated due to unrealistic assumptions about fuel consumption and ship speed.
