Liebherr to supply dual-trolley STS cranes to HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder

Hamburg Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) have purchased three dual trolley ship-to-shore (STS) cranes from Liebherr Container Cranes for its container terminal Altenwerder (CTA) at the Port of Hamburg. 

With two trolleys operating on a single crane, dual trolley STS cranes offer “exceptional” operational flexibility and increased efficiency, according to Liebherr. 

The primary trolley handles container transfers between the ship and landside, while the secondary portal trolley can simultaneously handle transfers from the crane to the automated guided vehicles.
