The Port of Antwerp-Bruges has launched a digital radar and camera network, seeking to improve its traffic management by scanning the whole Antwerp port area.
Following the recent implementation of a drone network, this project is meant to help towards the realisation of a complete digital nervous system covering the area.
The Antwerp port area covers more than 120 sq km with 11,000 ha of waterways and quays, while more than 300,000 shipping movements take place in the port every year.
