The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded US$5m to PortMiami to assist its planning and design studies for carbon neutral on-port operations and the development of an inland cargo centre.

The grant, which comes via the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) programme will help the Florida port to complete its Master Plan.

The project will include on-port and off-port planning and design for an optimised sequences of services to and from inland ports.
