Maersk has broken ground on World Gateway 2, a new 1.1m sq ft distribution centre built in the west of Singapore, hoping to boost its logistics capabilities.
The distribution centre is expected to be completed by Q1 2025 and is purposefully located in Jurong West, near to the Ayer Rajah Expressway and with access to Tuas Mega Port and Changi International Airport.
The new facility is designed to have a capacity of 30,000 pallet automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) with a 160,000 sq ft floorplate.
