Transnet chooses ICTSI as partner to upgrade key Port of Durban facility
Transnet has announced that International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has been selected as its equity partner to develop Durban Container Terminal (DCT) Pier 2.
DCT Pier 2 is Transnet’s biggest terminal, handling 72% of the Port of Durban’s throughput and 46% of South Africa’s port traffic.
The 25-year joint venture will aim to reposition the terminal for best practice performance, grow volume throughput and provide operational and commercial support to access global shipping line call routes.
