APM Terminals (APMT) has invested US$60m in an electrification pilot programme in its efforts to decarbonise its port operations.
The terminal operator has committed to be carbon neutral by 2040 and APMT will attempt to do so by optimising energy consumption, switching to green electricity, on-site renewables and electrifying assets.
APMT recently signed agreements with Konecranes and Sany for long-term collaboration on further development of electric port equipment.
