The Kobe-Osaka International Port Corporation, Mistui O.S.K Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and K Line have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Port Island Phase 2 Development Project at the Port of Kobe.
Port Island Phase 2 is an artificial island to the south of Port Island with a total area of 390 ha, for which reclamation work was completed in 2010, which is being developed as an integrated logistics terminal.
Notably it includes a deepwater container terminal across a total of six berths with a water depth of 15-16 m as well as 208 ha of land for wharfage and port logistics functions.
