MSC has expanded its rail fleet with the order of 15 new locomotives at its Medway Belgium branch, aiming to supplement container transport by ship, serving the eastern hinterland of Antwerp.
The Vectron MS locomotives will be employed for cross-border freight transport in Europe, boosting the capability of the Northwest Continent terminal.
The units will be deployed within an East-West geographical landscape, in an attempt to improve connectivity between Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Austria and Poland.
