Chiquita’s Great White Fleet purchases 800 PrimeLINE reefer units from Carrier
Great White Fleet, a company under Chiquita brands, has added 800 PrimeLINE container refrigeration units from Carrier Transicold to transport bananas on routes from Central America to North America.
Stefano Di Paolo, president of Great White Fleet, said: “Energy conservation is vital to Great White Fleet’s green transportation initiatives, and we are pleased that PrimeLINE not only reduces fuel consumption related to shipboard power generation but also reduces emissions proportionately, helping us to shrink our carbon footprint.”
According to the reefer manufacturer, the PrimeLINE unit offers efficient performance, thanks to its digital scroll processor and fast temperature pull-down with an economised vapour injection system.
