The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) saw container volumes increase by 17% in July to 447,590 teu compared to the previous month, following a boost in berthing capacity, although throughput is still 16% below last year’s levels.
Dock renovations have expanded annual berth capacity by 25% and extended the port’s ability to serve vessels with a capacity of more than 16,000 teu.
Compared to pre-pandemic July 2019 levels, compound annual growth is 4% (60,564 teu) over the past four years.
