Container volumes dropped by 26% year-on-year at the Port of Long Beach in July, due to adjusted trade routes, full warehouses and a shift in consumer spending to travel, entertainment and other experiences.
The port handled 578,249 teu, with imports declining 28%, exports falling by 18% and empties decreasing by 28%.
Port of Long Beach CEO Mario Cordero said: “I am confident we will see our numbers improve as we work with industry partners to rebuild our market share.
