South Carolina Ports (SC Ports) recorded 4% dip in total container volumes year-on-year in July, despite strong import performance at the Port of Charleston.
Port of Charleston’s imports were up 12% from June and up 3% compared to the same period last year, outperforming US volumes, while exports increased by 9%.
However, SC Ports total container volumes dipped to 208,134 teu and 115,244 pier containers, which account for containers of any size, last month due to lower exports of empty containers.
