Cork Container Terminal handles 90,000 containers in its first operational year

The Port of Cork Company (PoCC) has marked the first year of the Cork Container Terminal (CCT) in Ringaskiddy which saw the facility load and discharge over 90,000 containers.

CCT discharged 46,932 containers and loaded 48,282 containers onto a total of 340 ships which docked, with an average of 280 containers loaded and discharged per ship.

The terminal was funded by a €94m (US$100m) investment and became operational in April 2022 before its official opening on September 23, 2022.
