Brazil’s National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq) has disqualified the second choice bidder for a two-year interim contract for the operation of the Port of Itajaí’s container terminal due to its proposal to handle 44,000 teu per month being judged unfeasible.
Mada Araujo Asset Management LTDA is the second bidder to have failed with its proposal after Antaq reached the same judgement on MMS Empreendimentos LTDA’s claim that it could handle 66,000 teu per month.
The terminal’s installed capacity under current conditions is 540,000 teu per year.
