The Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles have made US$60m available in Clean Truck Fund (CTF) Rate funding through the California Hybrid and Zero-Emission and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) for vouchers towards the purchase of zero-emission, Class 8 drayage trucks to operate at the San Pedro ports complex.
Each port is providing US$30m through the CTF rate, which collects US$10/teu from cargo owners on loaded containers entering and leaving the port complex, enabling the purchase and deployment of up to 800 new zero-emission trucks.
The CTF rate is a key component of the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action plan to achieve 100% zero-emissions drayage trucks by 2035.
