Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG’s (HHLA) Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA) facility has completed converting its automated guided vehicle (AGV) fleet to fully battery power.
CTA has decommissioned the last diesel-powered AGV, meaning that its fleet now consists of 95 battery-powered units running on green electricity.
Fossil energy is no longer necessary at any stage of the container transport process from the ship to the container storage system – it is now entirely electrified.
