DP World has awarded Egypt-based engineering and construction company EDECS the contract for major infrastructure and road works at its Jeddah South Container Terminal in Saudi Arabia.
EDECS’ scope of work includes infrastructure work on a total of 100,000 sq m, including earthwork, paving layers, road marking, electrical networks, sewage networks, firefighting networks, and reefer gantries.
Upon completion, the revamped terminal will increase the port’s container handling capacity from 2.4m to 3m teu by 2024.
