APM Terminals Callao commences US$95m general cargo expansion

APM Terminals (APMT) Callao has commenced works on stage 3A of its multipurpose north terminal modernisation project, representing a 100% private investment of US$95m.

The project, which exceeds contractual commitments in the addendum by 40%, will be carried out during 2024 and is largely focused on improving efficiency for general cargo operations.

Improvements include the construction of a battery of 12 vertical silos for clean grains, increasing capacity from 25,000 tonnes to 85,000 tonnes; the acquisition and installation of two continuous free-flow solid grain unloaders and the construction of 2.13 ha of paved areas and significant improvements at the access gate for general cargo.
