APMT Tangier MedPort’s 1m teu expansion becomes operational
APM Terminals (APMT) Tangier MedPort’s over 1m teu Phase 2 expansion, covering 18 ha, with seven additional container stacks and an additional 400 m berth, is now in operation.
The latest expansion includes 14 electric automated rail mounted gantry (RMG) cranes and 11 semi-automated hybrid shuttle carriers from Kalmar to help improve productivity and further support reduced CO2 emissions.
In addition, the four new remote-controlled ship-to-shore (STS) cranes boast an 82 m outreach and the ability to hand le cargo vessels of 26 containers in width (or up to 24,000 teu container capacity).
