US Federal Government grants Port of Long Beach US$283m for Pier B On-Dock Rail Support Facility
Port of Long Beach has received US$283m frojm the federal government to assist in building a rail project known as ‘America’s Green Gateway’ to help speed deliveries across the national supply chain, ease congestion and lessen the local environmental impact.
The funding for the Pier B On-Dock Rail Support facility was given via the US Department of Transportation’s Mega Grant programme.
Representing a total investment of nearly US$1.6bn, the project is the centrepiece of the Port of Long Beach’s on-dock rail construction improvements.
