Update: As of January 5, Maersk has decided that all its vessels due to transit the Red Sea will be diverted south around the Cape of Good Hope for the foreseeable future, after it paused transits following an attack by Houthi militants on one of its ships on December 30.
It noted that while the diversion will lead to disruption in its global network, it hopes to bring its customers more consistency and predictability.
