Two ship crew members lost their lives, and another was injured, in a ship fire onboard the M/V Stride whilst it was docked at the Barbours Cut Container Terminal in Port Houston.

The injured crew member was transported to hospital via a medical transport helicopter, and there were no other reports of injuries.

According to a post published on the port’s Facebook page on January 8, 2024, the Port Houston Fire Department responded to a report of a fire onboard the vessel in the early morning hours of that day.
