Japan’s ministry of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism has announced that Yokohama Port and Kobe Port will hold on-site demonstrations of hydrogen-powered rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes.
At Yokohama Port Minamihonmoku Pier Area MC-2, the project involves conversion of a diesel generation to a hydrogen fuel cell.
Meanwhile, Kobe-Osaka International Port has commissioned a demonstration project for the world’s first RTG converted from a diesel engine generator to a hydrogen engine generator.
