Ports of Stockholm, Port of Turki and shipping company Viking Line have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a green shipping corridor between Turki and Stockholm by 2035 at the latest.
The goal is to create an entirely fossil-fuesl greenhouse gas emissions-free corridor, achieved through a framework with scalable solutions for the transition to fuels and shipping with low climate impact.
Clara Lindbolm, city council responsible for Ports of Stockholm, said: “Climate change is happening here and now. It is more important than ever to take tangible steps towards a green transition.
