CLdN, a Belgian-Luxembourgish shipping group owned by the Cigrang family, has acquired the neighbouring Distriport terminal at the Port of Rotterdam from Broekman Logistics, as it looks to diversify and further expand its service offerings.
Distriport encompasses an area of 22 ha, including 630 m of quay, container transhipment and storage facilities and 50,000 sq m of covered warehouses, transhipment capabilities for high and heavy loads of general cargo, as well as a track header with 1.4 km of rail.
Rik Pek, Broekman Logistics CEO, said: “While Distriport has a clear strategic fit with CLdN’s activities, it is less aligned with Broekman Logistics’s strategic focus as an industrial specialist in machinery, industrial and chemicals.
