H.Essers has started the construction of the Markiezaat Container Terminal, located at the head of Noordland in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands, which is expected to be operational by early 2026.
The new terminal will have a maximum capacity of 250,000 teu and replace the current inland facility, featuring a reinforced quay wall of 325 m, two container cranes, two reachstackers and 19,000 solar panels.
Additionally, 45,000 sq m of extra warehouse space will be constructed, bringing the total area to 210,000 sq m.
