Porto Chibatão has received four Liebherr LBS 800 harbour cranes for its floating pier as the port, which serves the Manaus industrial park, looks to improve reliability, high-speed turnover and reduce emissions by including more electric drives.
The barge-slewing cranes are the largest harbour cranes over a floating pier, with a special boom length of 66 m, allowing them to reach large freighters with a width of 23 rows of containers, and supported by a 9.6 m tower to improve visibility for the operators.
The LBS 800 models are equipped for container handling with a turnover of up to 35 containers per hour and can lift up to 104 tonnes.
