The Biden-Harris administration has invested US$3bn into the Clean Port Programme to fund zero-emission port equipment and infrastructure and air quality planning at US ports, as part of the Investing in America agenda.
The programme is designed to help ports across the country transition to fully zero-emission operations and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released two Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) as part of the investment.
The Zero-Emission Technology Deployment Competition, worth almost US$2.8bn, will directly fund zero-emission port equipment and infrastructure to reduce mobile source emissions at ports.
