Italian terminals receive four Liebherr electric RTGs
Two Italian terminals have received four Liebherr electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (E-RTGs), with three being delivered to Consorzio Napoletano Terminal Containers (Conateco) and the other crane to Salerno Container Terminal (SCT).
The E-RTG ordered by SCT will work container stacks 10 wide and six high and is amongst the largest of this type of crane delivered by Liebherr.
The machines have a hybrid powertrain, being able to operate on diesel and electricity via cable reeling drum, which offers emission free container handling when connected to the grid and energy savings through onboard power regeneration.
