Adani Ports acquires Gopalpur Port, Odisha for US$360m
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has purchased the 56% stake of SP Group and 39% of Orissa Stevedores Ltd (OSL) to acquire Gopalpur Port Ltd (GPL) for INR3,080 cr (US$360m).
The Government of Odisha awarded a 30-year concession to GPL in 2006, with the provision of two extensions of 10 years each.
Gopalpur port is located on the Indian east coast and has the capacity the to handle 20m tonnes per annum.
