Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has recorded container volume growth of 11% over the last five years, which more than double the national rate across India of 5%, as the ports of Mundra, Hazira, Kattupalli and Ennore handled record volumes.
Around 44% of the containerised seaborne cargo in the country moves through APSEZ ports, with Mundra port increased record container volumes by rail by 12% over last year to 1.9m teu.
Mundra’s container terminal CT-3 became the first in India to handle 3m teu during the year and around 300,000 teu for a single month in November 2023.
