First companies sign up to Port of Antwerp-Bruges hub to test groundbreaking technologies in port environment

Power to Hydrogen and TripleW have signed up to the NextGen Demo innovation hub in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges to test groundbreaking technologies regarding green hydrogen and food waste in a port environment to help progress the energy transition and circularity. 

NextGen Demo is a zone of 2 ha within the cluster of the industry in Antwerp where demonstrators, such as start-ups and scale-ups, spin-off companies and pilot projects, can test new technologies and circular demo projects on a larger scale that have outgrown the lab and in an industrial environment before moving to commercialisation. 

The port has cleared a total area of 88 ha for NextGen District, with the goal of establishing a hotspot for the circular economy and becoming a catalyst for progress in sustainability in the energy transition.
