International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has received approval on April 15 from the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC) to operate and develop the Visayas Container Terminal (VCT), the international seaport of Iloilo City.
VCT is strategically located as a gateway for the province of Iloilo, Panay Island and the wider Western Visayas region and its natural harbour in the Panay Gulf, sheltered by Guimaras Island, provides a safe and ideal environment for ships.
ICTSI hopes the 25-year concession agreement will strengthen its presence in the Philippines and unlock the economic potential of the Western Visayas region.
