AD Ports Group has signed a 20-year concession agreement with Unicargas and Multiparques to operate and upgrade the Luanda Multipurpose Port Terminal in Angola, acquiring an 81% stake in a joint venture to operate the terminal.
The joint venture will upgrade the existing facility to a container and roll-on roll-off (ro-ro) terminal, encompassing an enlarged area of 192,000 sq m, an upgrade quay wall, additional ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, gantry cranes and other equipment, an expanded draught of 16 m and modernised IT systems.
Redevelopment is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026 and increase container handling volumes from 25,000 teu to 350,000 teu and ro-ro volumes are aimed to surpass 40,000 vehicles.
