Liebherr concludes major STS crane upgrade at Port Liberty

Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. Have concluded a major upgrade project at Port Liberty in New York, which included increasing the lift height and extending the boom tip on three of the four Liebherr ship-to-shore (STS) cranes at the port. 

Liebherr’s team of engineers increased the lift height of the STS cranes by 8.6m and extended the outreach by five which enables the cranes to efficiently handle larger vessels. 

This allows Port Liberty to offer an improved service to their customers, and the fourth container crane is due to be upgraded in the coming weeks.
