Saudi Global Ports (SGP) has procured 80 Sany electric prime movers (ePMs) for use at the container terminals at King Abdulaziz Port Dammam (KAPD) in its efforts to move towards a more sustainable port ecosystem.
Sany will also supply the charging stations and provide the relevant training for SGP employees to maintain and service the ePMs and charging stations.
The equipment, which will be fully operational by the end of October, are part of SGP’s plans to invest up to SAR7bn (US$2.5bn) over its 30-year concession agreement to transform KAPD into a competitive and sustainable global container hub.
