AD Ports Group and the International Trade Centre (ITC), the joint agency of the UN and World Trade Organization (WTO), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate on trade facilitation, digital trade, logistics and transport, which will be carried out through policy dialogue, digital trade solutions, capacity building, experience sharing and technical assistance.
Both parties will use various solutions to simplify trade with the aim of improving the efficiency of the transport, maritime, ports and logistics sectors in the UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and developing countries.
The two entities will review frameworks and policies across these sectors to evaluate their effectiveness and develop and upgrade border services in line with international best practices, as well as providing technical assistance for developing and least developed countries, including on the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement for faster and smoother cross-border trade.
