La Spezia Container Terminal’s recent upgrade process has ensured the facility’s ability to handle Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs), including those operating on Ocean alliance’s Asia-West Mediterranean service.

The 21,000 teu OOCL Indonesia, operated by Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), will dock at the terminal in mid July.

Alongside two of five of its sister ships, the OOCL Indonesia, is employed within the Asia-West Mediterranean service where La Spezia serves as a gateway to the northern Tyrrhenian Sea.
