EIB lends €90m for sustainable expansion of Port Livorno
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a €90m (US$98m) financing agreement to support the expansion of the Port of Livorno and go toward the construction of the Darsena Europa container terminal.
The Darsena Europa container terminal project is designed to accommodate the larger ships operating on global trade lanes today and will offer 3 km of quays, two large terminals and 2m sq m of new areas in addition to a new harbour entrance.
