Penang Port invests in new port equipment to enhance efficiency

Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port) has invested in a new fleet of Kalmar container handlers designed to optimise its operations and improve service delivery.

The new fleet comprises four Empty Container Handlers (ECHs) and one reachstacker which were handed over at the North Butterworth Container Terminal (NBCT).

Aiming to enhance efficiency and cost effectiveness, the deployment of the ECHs marks the first time Penang Port will fully insource this operation using its own manpower and equipment.
