The Los Angeles Harbor Commissionhas approved a lease amendment that finalises plans for a US$52m infrastructure improvement project which will significantly improve the on-dock rail capacity and reduce overall emissions at the Port of Los Angeles Pier 300 terminal.
Construction of the project is expected to begin next year and will add five loading/unloading tracks in the intermodal yard at the Pier 300 terminals, which is operated by Fenix Marine Services.
Los Angeles Harbor Commission president Lucille Roybal-Allard said: “This project enhances cargo capacity and efficiency while improving the sustainability of port operation.
